On or about Monday, January 3rd, 2021, around 12:20 in the morning, an accident between a parked vehicle, a tow truck, and a tractor-trailer claimed the life of a 41-year-old man. Local law enforcement spokespeople said the accident was reported at the intersection of Route 1 and Adams Lane in North Brunswick, New Jersey.

Authorities from the North Brunswick Police Department said 41-year-old Edward Smith Jr. was killed when a tractor-trailer allegedly struck his tow truck as he was turning at the intersection of Route 1 and Adams Lane. After the initial collision, Smith’s tow truck was pushed into a nearby parked car, while the tractor-trailer veered slightly off the roadway. Emergency responders pronounced Smith dead of his injuries a short time after they arrived at the scene of the accident.

According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is about 29 miles south of downtown Newark.

Police are still working to pin down exactly what happened in the accident.
