On or about Friday, December 10th, 2021, around 12:30 in the morning, a serious single-vehicle car accident left a 78-year-old woman and 21-year-old man dead. Authorities from the Department of Public Safety said the accident was reported along Interstate 20 not far from the exchange with U.S. Highway 67 in Dallas, Texas.

Officers from the DPD said 78-year-old Elaine Morrison and 21-year-old Nicholas Marchant were killed when the passenger vehicle they were in allegedly drove off the side of the roadway and slammed into a concrete pillar a short distance off the pavement. Emergency responders pronounced Morrison dead of her injuries when they arrived at the scene, while Marchant was rushed to a nearby hospital by paramedics where he succumbed to his injuries a short time after his arrival.

According to Google Maps, the exchange of Interstate 20 and Highway 67 is on the south side of Dallas.

Police are still trying to determine all the factors that may have contributed to the accident.
