On or about Friday, July 30th, 2021, around 12:00 in the afternoon, an accident between a dump truck and several vehicles sent eleven people to the hospital. Troopers from the FHP said the accident was reported along the eastbound side International Speedway Boulevard in Daytona Beach, Florida.

Authorities said eleven as-of-yet unidentified people were injured when a dump truck allegedly slammed into an unspecified number of vehicles on International Speedway Boulevard before fleeing the scene. Paramedics rushed eleven people to the hospital with various injuries after the incident. Authorities have since charged 46-year-old Thomas Somersall with several counts of hit-and-run in connection with the incident.

According to Google Maps, International Speedway Boulevard runs east and west through Daytona Beach, with the scene of the accident not far from the intersection with Pit Road.
