On or about Tuesday, May 18th, 2021, around 8:00 in the morning, an accident between a box truck and a pedestrian left a 73-year-old woman dead. Police indicated the accident was reported at the intersection of G Street and Fourth Street in San Rafael, California.
Law enforcement officials said 73-year-old Elida Delgado Rodriguez was killed when she was allegedly struck by a box truck that was northbound on G Street as she was crossing at Fourth Street. Emergency responders pronounced Rodriguez dead of her injuries a short time after the accident. Authorities did not mention any other vehicles in connection with the accident in their initial statement.
According to Google Maps, the intersection of G Street and Fourth Street is situated on the western side of San Rafael, which is about 18 miles north of downtown San Francisco.
Police are still investigating.
