On or about Tuesday, November 10th, 2020, an accident between a minivan and a tractor-trailer left a 52-year-old woman from Ione dead. State Troopers said the accident happened on Highway 299 near Ingot in Shasta County, California.

Authorities said 52-year-old Elizabeth Marcia Chick was killed when her Honda Odyssey was allegedly crushed by hay bales that had fallen off the back of a westbound tractor-trailer. The truck was allegedly navigating a curve when the bales fell from the truck. Chick was pronounced dead a short time after the crash.

Google Maps shows Highway 299 is two lanes that wind north and south near Ingot, which is located about 21 miles northeast of Redding in Northern California.

Authorities expect to release more information at a later date.
