On or about Tuesday, October 12th, 2021, around 8:00 at night, an accident between a school bus and a car left a 21-year-old Glencoe woman dead and sent two children to the hospital. Officials from the area said the accident was reported at the intersection of Highway 212 and County Road 31 in Carver County, Minnesota.

Investigators said one 21-year-old Ellen Fostead was killed when the car she was driving was allegedly struck by a turning school bus at the intersection of Highway 212 and County Road 31. Paramedics rushed Follestad to Hennepin County Medical Center where she succumbed to her injuries a short time after her arrival. Two students on the bus were also taken to the hospital with unspecified injuries.

According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is a short distance from Norwood Young America, which is about 42 miles southwest of downtown Minneapolis.

Police are still working to pin down the cause of the accident.
