Daniel Ortega Marroquin and Emelin Ortega Rodas were killed in a collision with a semi-truck while travelling along Interstate 80, near Grand Island, NE. Nebraska State Police report the accident happened around 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 11, 2025. The Chevy Trailblazer, driven by Ortega Marroquin, reportedly lost control and drifted across the center median, where it collided with the semi.

Troopers say the driver of the semi received minor injuries, and that weather was a factor in the accident. Investigations into the crash are ongoing.
