Emma Nelson, Korey Bowers Killed in Tractor-Trailer Accident near Hawk Springs

On or about Wednesday, November 17th, 2021, around 10:00 at night, an accident between a tractor-trailer and a passenger vehicle left two teenagers dead. Troopers from the WHP said the accident was reported along the northbound side of Highway 85 just outside Hawk Springs, Wyoming.

Authorities from the Wyoming Highway Patrol said 18-year-old Korey Bowers and 19-year-old Emma Nelson were killed when the car they were in was allegedly struck by a tractor-trailer as they were attempting to turn on Highway 313 from Highway 85. Police said the tractor-trailer may have been using the shoulder to pass the car when the collision occurred. Officials said Emma Nelson died of her injuries at the scene, while Korey Bowers died a short time after being taken to Community Hospital in Torrington, Wyoming.

Police identified the driver of the tractor-trailer as Conan Ferguson, who was unhurt along with his passenger, Manos Zouridakis.

According to Google Maps, Hawk Springs is about 63 miles north of Cheyanne.
