On or about Tuesday, March 1st, 2022, around 8:43 in the morning, an accident between a pedestrian and a heavy-duty pickup truck left a 48-year-old woman dead. Representatives from the ASP said the accident was reported along Highway 71B in Springdale, Arkansas.
Deputies from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office said 48-year-old Emma Rivera Octaviano was killed when she was allegedly struck by a GMC 3500 heavy-duty pickup truck as she was walking alongside or made an attempt to cross the lanes of Highway 71B. Emergency responders rushed Octaviano to Washington Regional Medical Center where she succumbed to her injuries a short time after the accident.
According to Google Maps, Springdale is about 202 miles southeast of downtown Little Rock.
Police are still investigating the accident.
