On or about Monday, November 8th, 2021, around 8:10 in the morning, a major accident between a tractor-trailer and a pedestrian claimed the life of a 33-year-old Bidwell man. Troopers from the OSHP said the accident was reported along the westbound side of Highway 52 in Lawrence County, Ohio.

Officials from the area said 33-year-old Eric Boothe was killed when he was allegedly hit by a westbound tractor-trailer as he was walking alongside or made an attempt to cross the lanes of Highway 52. Emergency responders pronounced Boothe dead of his injuries a short time after they responded to the scene of the accident. Officers did not mention any other injuries in their statement on the crash.

According to Google Maps, Highway 52 winds east and west through Lawrence County, which is about 122 miles south of downtown Columbus.

Police are still examining the factors surrounding the accident.
