On or about Saturday, March 19th, 2022, around 8:16 at night, a serious accident between a passenger vehicle and a tractor-trailer left a 52-year-old Cedar Rapids man dead. Troopers from the ISP said the accident was reported along Highway 218 in Janesville, Iowa.
Representatives from the Bremer County Sheriff’s Department said 52-year-old Eric Stenseth was killed when the passenger vehicle he was in allegedly struck a tractor-trailer that was parked on the side of Highway 218. Paramedics pronounced Stenseth dead of his injuries a short time after the collision.
According to Google Maps, Janesville is about 70 miles northwest of Cedar Rapids.
Multiple agencies responded to the scene to assist.
