On or about Friday, October 29th, 2021, around 8:58 at night, an accident between a tractor-trailer and a car claimed the life of a 44-year-old Missouri man. Troopers from the ASP said the accident was reported at the intersection of Highway 412 and Highway 358 in Paragould, Arkansas.
Deputies from the Green County Sheriff’s Office said 44-year-old Eric Ward Abernathy was killed when the car he was driving allegedly failed to yield at the intersection of Highway 412 and Highway 358 when it was struck by a tractor-trailer. Emergency responders pronounced Abernathy dead of his injuries at the scene of the accident. The driver of the tractor-trailer was unhurt in the crash.
According to Google Maps, Paragould is about 158 miles northeast of downtown Little Rock.
Arkansas State Police assisted at the scene of the accident.
