Details:
On or about Tuesday, February 2nd, 2021, around 9:00 in the morning, an accident between a box truck an d a tractor-trailer left two men dead. Deputies from the County Sheriff’s Office said the accident happened in the 6900 block of Southeast Drive in Lubbock, Texas.
Authorities said 57-year-old Ernesto Aguilar was driving a tractor-trailer that collided head-on with a box truck driven by 41-year-old Augustin Vasquez. It is not currently clear which vehicle may have caused the accident. Paramedics transported Vasquez and Aguilar to a nearby hospital where they died a short time after their arrival.
Southeast drive runs north and south through the area with two lanes, according to Google Maps.
Multiple agencies are investigating.
