On or about Saturday, March 27th, 2021, around 2:42 in the afternoon, an accident between a tractor-trailer and a Ford passenger vehicle left an 81-year-old man dead. Troopers from the DPS said the accident happened along the northbound side of Interstate 45 in Navarro County, Texas.
Texas Department of Public Safety Troopers said 81-year-old Ervin Allen was killed when his Ford 500 allegedly struck the back of a tractor-trailer that was stopped on the right shoulder of I-45. Emergency responders pronounced Allen dead of his injuries a short time after they arrived at the scene.
According to Google Maps, Interstate 45 runs north and south through Navarro County, which is about 55 miles south of downtown Dallas.
Multiple agencies are investigating the accident.
