Details:
On or about Monday, May 31st, 2021, an accident between a pedestrian and a garbage truck claimed the life of a 75-year-old man. Troopers from the OSP said the accident was reported in the 5055 block of Elliott Circle in Benton County, Oregon.
Authorities said 75-year-old Eugene Linwood Lang was killed when he was allegedly backed over by a garbage truck as he was taking his trash out on Elliott Circle. Emergency responders rushed Lang to the hospital where he died of his injuries a short time after his arrival. Officials did not mention any other injuries stemming from the accident.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident in Corvallis is situated between Eugene and Salem.
Police expect to release the findings of their investigation at a later date.
