On or about Sunday, December 19th, 2021, around 3:00 in the morning, a serious single-vehicle car accident left a 23-year-old man dead. Authorities from the area said the accident was reported in the 3600 block of East Richardson Road in Edinburg, Texas.

Local police said 23-year-old Everado Zodam Ledesma was killed when the car he was driving allegedly drove off the side of East Richardson Road and crashed into a utility pole a short distance off the pavement. Emergency responders rushed Ledesma to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to his injuries a short time after his arrival. Police did not mention any other injuries stemming from the accident.

According to Google Maps, Edinburg is about 228 miles south of downtown San Antonio.

Authorities are working to pin down all the factors that may have contributed to the accident.
