Details:
On or about Wednesday, March 9th, 2022, around 11:00 at night, a major accident between two tractor-trailers left one person dead and sent another individual to the hospital. Officials from the Department of Public Safety said the accident was reported along Interstate 30 in Hopkins County, Texas.
Texas DPS troopers said 29-year-old Fadi Kathawa was killed and 33-year-old Lester Brown was injured when Kathawa’s tractor-trailer allegedly rolled over the center line of Interstate 30 and collided with Brown’s tractor-trailer in the oncoming lanes. Emergency responders pronounced Kathawa dead a short time after the accident, while Brown was treated for injuries of an unspecified nature or severity.
According to Google Maps, Interstate 30 runs east and west through the center of Hopkins County.
Police are still looking into the cause of the accident.
