Details:
On or about Tuesday, January 19th, 2021, an accident between a pickup truck and a commercial truck claimed the life of a man and his daughter, while sending another child to the hospital. Authorities said the accidnet happened along Van Dyke Avenue at the intersection with 21 Mile Road in Shelby Township, Michigan.
Troopers from the Michigan State Police said a southbound commercial truck allegedly struck a Dodge Ram pickup truck that was turning from the northbound lanes onto 21 Mile Road. The 45-year-old driver of the Dodge Ram and his 12-year-old daughter were killed in the crash. Another 12-year-old in the Ram was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident happened in central Shelby Township, which is about 30 miles north of downtown Detroit.
Police expect to release more information as soon as it becomes available.
