On or about Thursday, April 22nd, 2021, around 8:18 in the morning, an accident between an SUV, a bus, and a tractor-trailer sent five people to the hospital. Troopers from the VSP said the accident happened on the eastbound side of Interstate 66 in Centreville, Virginia.

Investigators said a tractor-trailer allegedly swerved to avoid a collision when it struck a Prince William County OmniRide bus and an SUV in the adjacent lane. Paramedics transported the driver of the OmniRide bus and four passengers to the hospital with unknown injuries. Nobody in the SUV reported injuries after the crash.

Authorities identified 31-year-old Kyle Childers as the driver of the tractor-trailer, who was cited for improper lane change after the accident.

Police took several hours to clear the scene.
