On or about Monday, November 30th, 2020, around 10:00 in the morning, an accident between a minivan and a tractor-trailer claimed the lives of five people. Authorities said the accident happened on the eastbound side of Interstate 24 near Rossville Boulevard exit in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
Police said five as-of-yet unidentified people were killed when the Honda Odyssey minivan they were in allegedly collided with a tractor-trailer that pulled off the side of the interstate. Paramedics pronounced five individuals dead of their injuries following the accident.
According to Google Maps, Interstate 24 is eight lanes, with a concrete barrier dividing east and westbound traffic. The scene of the accident is situated a short distance from downtown Chattanooga.
Police hope to release the findings of their investigation at a later date.
