Details:
On or about Monday, November 1st, 2021, around 5:00 in the afternoon, an accident between a dump truck and an SUV sent three children and an adult to the hospital. Authorities from the KHP said the accident was reported along Lake Jericho Road in Smithfield, Kentucky.
Deputies from the Henry County Sheriff’s Office said three as-of-yet unidentified children and an adult were injured when a dump truck allegedly lost control and crossed over the center line of Lake Jericho Road where it collided with an oncoming SUV. Three children in the SUV and the driver of the dump truck were taken to the hospital with injuries of an unspecified nature or severity.
According to Google Maps, Lake Jericho Road runs north and south through Smithfield, with the scene of the accident situated a short distance south of Interstate 71.
Police are still investigating the crash.
