On or about Thursday, December 17th, 2020, in the early morning hours, an accident between a tractor-trailer and a pickup truck sent four people to the hospital. Troopers from the Texas Department of Public Safety said the accident happened at the intersection of Jack Rabbit Road and Highway 287 in Amarillo, Texas.

Police said four people were injured when a pickup truck was allegedly struck broadside by an 18-wheeler. Officers said the pickup truck was northbound on Jack Rabbit Road when it was hit by a tractor-trailer that was eastbound on Highway 287. Emergency responders transported four people to the hospital with unspecified injuries.

Authorities did not specify which vehicle or vehicles the four people were in at the time of the crash.

Texas DPS closed the lanes of Highway 287 in order to tend to the scene of the accident.

Multiple agencies responded to assist in the investigation.
