On or about Friday, November 6th, 2020, around 8:50 in the morning, an accident between a car and a tractor-trailer sent a woman and three children to the hospital. State Troopers said the accident happened at the intersection of Highway 50 and Highway 24 just outside Kenansville in Duplin County, North Carolina.

Officers said a woman and three kids were seriously hurt when a tractor-trailer allegedly ran a red light and struck their car. Authorities said three children were ejected, while the woman was pinned in the car. All four victims were taken to the hospital with various injuries.

Police cited the driver of the tractor-trailer for failing to yield to the light.

Looking at the intersection on Google Streetview shows Highway 50 runs north and south, while Highway 24 runs east and west, with a grassy median diving the directions of traffic. Kenansville sits about 38 miles west of Jacksonville.

State and local law enforcement agencies are aiding in the accident investigation.
