On or about Saturday, February 5th, 2022, around 1:30 in the afternoon, an accident at an oil well sent four individuals to the hospital. Authorities from the area said the accident was reported at an oil well along Farm to Market Road 1738 just outside Jasper, Texas.

Officials from the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office said four as-of-yet unidentified individuals were injured when they were allegedly doused in oil and natural gas while working at an oil well. After the four victims were exposed, an unknown ignition source started a fire. All four victims were taken by private vehicles to a nearby hospital with injuries of an unspecified nature or severity stemming from the accident.

According to Google Maps, the scene of the incident is a short distance northeast of Jasper, which is about 134 miles northeast of downtown Houston.

Police are still investigating the accident.
