On or about Thursday, October 29th, 2020, around 12:26 in the afternoon, an accident between a construction box truck and a tractor-trailer sent one man to the hospital with serious injuries. New Jersey State Police said the accident happened on Route 130 near the intersection with Voelbel Road in Robbinsville, New Jersey.
Troopers said Francesco Russo was seriously injured when the box truck he was driving was allegedly struck head-on by a tractor-trailer, and that the box truck burst into flames following the collision. Paramedics freed Russo from the wreckage before he was rushed to Capital Health Medical Center to be treated for his injuries. The driver of the tractor-trailer was treated at the scene for unknown injuries.
Looking at the area on Google Streetview shows Route 130 as six lanes, with a wide, grassy median dividing north and southbound traffic. Robbinsville is situated about 10 miles west of Trenton.
Officials hope to release more information about the accident as soon as it becomes available.
