On or about Tuesday, March 1st, 2022, around 9:00 at night, a serious accident between a pedestrian and a passenger vehicle left one individual dead. Authorities from the Department of Public Safety said the accident was reported along South Padre Island Drive in Corpus Christi, Texas.
Law enforcement representatives from the Corpus Christi Police Department said 58-year-old Francisco Casares was killed when he was allegedly struck by a vehicle as he was walking alongside or made an attempt to cross the lanes of South Padre Island Drive. Paramedics pronounced Cesares dead of his injuries following the accident.
According to Google Maps, South Padre Island Drive bends east and west through the center of Corpus Christi.
