On or about Monday, January 24th, 2022, around 5:00 in the morning, an accident between a pedestrian and a passenger vehicle left one individual dead. Officials from the Department of Public Safety said the accident was reported along Interstate 27 just outside Plainview in Hale County, Texas.
Deputies from the County Sheriff’s Department said 56-year-old Frank Castro was killed when he was allegedly hit by a passing motorist as he was walking alongside or made an attempt to cross the lanes of traffic on Interstate 27. Emergency responders pronounced Castro dead of his injuries a short time after the accident.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is a short distance from Plainview, which is about 47 miles north of Lubbock.
