Details:
On or about Thursday, March 25th, 2021, around 12:26 in the afternoon, an accident between a tractor-trailer and a man on a bicycle left a 64-year-old man dead. Officers from the area said the accident was reported at the intersection of South 6th Avenue and West Broadway Boulevard in Tucson, Arizona.
Law enforcement officials said 64-year-old Frank Jerome Ruggirello was killed when he was allegedly run over by an 18-wheeler that was in the eastbound lanes of West Broadway Boulevard. Officers said Ruggirello may have fallen into the path of the tractor-trailer before the accident. Paramedics rushed Ruggirello to a nearby hospital where he died of his injuries a short time after his arrival.
The intersection of West Broadway Boulevard and South 6th Avenue is situated in the center of downtown Tucson, according to Google Maps.
Arizona State Police and local law enforcement are investigating.
