On or about Thursday, February 25th, 2021, around 7:15 in the evening, an accident between a pickup truck and a tandem tractor-trailer left a 77-year-old Lakeside man dead. Troopers from the OSP said the accident happened along Highway 101 in Coos County, Oregon.
State Patrol said a tandem tractor-trailer had become disabled on the shoulder of the highway when a Chevrolet S-10 pickup driven by 77-year-old Frank Martinez allegedly collided with the back of the semi. Paramedics pronounced Martinez dead after the accident. Officials identified the driver of the tractor-trailer as Anthony Prom, who was uninjured in the accident.
Highway 101 runs north and south through Coos County, which is situated along the coast of the Pacific Ocean, according to Google Maps.
Police are still investigating the accident.
