On or about Thursday, March 17th, 2022, around 6:00 in the morning, a major accident between a garbage truck and a pedestrian left a 69-year-old man dead. Officers from the HPD said the accident was reported along Brainard Road in Hartford, Connecticut.
Representatives from the Connecticut State Police said 69-year-old Frank Paul was killed when he was allegedly struck by a garbage truck as he was walking alongside or made an attempt to cross the lanes of traffic on Brainard Road. Emergency responders rushed Paul to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to his injuries a short time after his arrival.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is situated on the south side of the city.
Police are still working to pin down all the factors that may have contributed to the accident.
