On or about Tuesday, October 13th, 2020, around 7:55 in the evening, a tractor-trailer collision with an SUV sent a Florida resident to the hospital and resulted in a citation for the truck driver. The accident happened at the intersection of Parks Highway and Church Road in Wasilla, Alaska.

Wasilla Police said that 53-year-old Florida resident Frederick Nightingale was injured when the Jeep Grand Cherokee he was driving was hit by a tractor-trailer that allegedly failed to yield while turning across traffic at the intersection. Paramedics transported Nightingale to Mat-Su Regional Medical CenterĀ for treatment of his injuries.

The driver of the tractor-trailer was identified as 35-year-old Josiah Goodenough, who was cited for failing to yield while turning left in connection with the incident.

Google Streetview shows that Parks Highway is four lanes running east, and Church Road is two lanes running north and south. The intersection is governed by stoplights.

Police hope to release the findings of their investigation whenever they become available.
