On or about Wednesday, September 15th, 2021, around 5:20 in the afternoon, an accident between a tractor-trailer hauling cars and a motorcycle claimed the life of a 24-year-old Jonesborough man. Officials from the TSP said the accident was reported in the 3600 block of the Bristol Highway in Johnson City, Tennessee.

Authorities said 24-year-old Gabriel Burrows was killed when a tractor-trailer hauling cars allegedly turned out of a business and into the path of Burrows’ motorcycle. Emergency responders pronounced Burrows dead of his injuries a short time after they arrived at the scene. The as-of-yet unidentified driver of the tractor-trailer was uninjured in the collision.

According to Google Maps, Bristol Highway runs north and south through Johnson City, which is about 105 miles northeast of downtown Knoxville.

Police are still investigating.
