On or about Friday,  November 5, 2021, around 7:30 in the evening, a major hit-and-run between a tractor-trailer log truck and a pickup truck left one man dead. Troopers from the Department of Public Safety said the accident was reported at the intersection of Mt. Mirah Road and State Highway 105 in Montgomery County, Texas

Law enforcement spokespeople said Gary Frank was killed when the pickup truck he was driving was allegedly hit by a tractor-trailer that failed to yield at the intersection of State Highway 105 and Mt. Mirah Road. After the initial collision, the tractor-trailer log truck fled the scene. Emergency responders pronounced Frank dead of his injuries a short time after they responded to the collision.

Officials have since charged 36-year-old Matthew Brian Davis with failure to stop and render aid-accident involving death in connection with the accident.

According to Google Maps, Montgomery County is about 40 miles north of downtown Houston.
