On or about Monday, August 23rd, 2021, around 2:30 in the afternoon, a single-vehicle dump truck accident claimed the life of a 75-year-old Lake Shore resident. Troopers from the USP said the accident occurred along the southbound side of Interstate 15 in American Fork, Utah.

Troopers from the Utah State Police said 75-year-old Gary Hubbard was killed when the dump truck he was driving allegedly sustained a tire blowout and crashed into a barrier wall. Hubbard was ejected from the truck in the accident and died of his injuries a short time after first responders arrived at the scene.

According to Google Maps, Interstate 15 runs north and south through American Fork, which is about 31 miles south of downtown Salt Lake City.

State and local law enforcement agencies assisted at the scene.
