On or about Thursday, January 21st, 2021, around 11:43 in the morning, an accident between a tractor-trailer and a pickup truck claimed the life of a 68-year-old Malone man. Troopers from the WSP said the accident happened on Highway 151 in Taycheeda, Wisconsin.
Deputies from the Fond Du Lac County Sheriff’s Office said Gary J. Wojtalewicz was killed when a tractor-trailer allegedly rear-ended his pickup truck when Wojtalewicz slowed to turn into a driveway. After the initial collision, Wojtalewicz’ pickup truck was pushed into a tree a short distance off the roadway. Paramedics pronounced Wojtalewicz dead of his injuries a short time after the collision.
Google Maps shows Highway 151 runs north and south through Taycheeda, which is situated along the edge of Lake Winnebago.
Authorities are still investigating the factors that may have contributed to the accident.
