On or about Monday, November 22nd, 2021, around 9:15 in the morning, an accident between an SUV and a pickup truck towing a flatbed trailer claimed the life of an 85-year-old man. Investigators from the SCHP said the accident was reported at the exchange of Highway 200 and Bennett Road in Lancaster, South Carolina.

Deputies from the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Department said 85-year-old George Guise was killed when the SUV he was driving allegedly struck the side of a pickup truck towing a flatbed trailer that was backing across the roadway onto Bennett Road. Emergency responders pronounced Guise dead of his injuries after the accident, but it is not immediately clear if he died at the scene or after being rushed to a nearby hospital.

According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is about 46 miles south of downtown Charlotte, North Carolina.

Police are still examining the cause of the accident.
