On or about Thursday, October 28th, 2021, around 5:37 in the morning, an accident between a car and a tractor-trailer claimed the life of a 66-year-old Benton City man. Deputies from the Benton County Sheriff’s Office said the accident was reported at the intersection of State Route 225 and State Route 240 in West Richland, Washington.

Troopers from the Washington State Police said 66-year-old Gerald Harris was killed when his car was allegedly struck by a tractor-trailer as he was traveling through the intersection of SR 225 and SR 250. Emergency responders pronounced Harris dead of his injuries at the scene of the accident. Police did not detail any other injuries in their preliminary statement on the accident.

According to Google Maps, SR 225 runs north and south, while SR 250 runs east and west through West Richland.

Police are still looking into the crash.
