On or about Tuesday, February 2nd, 2021, around 1:50 in the afternoon, an accident between a tractor-trailer and a pedestrian claimed the life of a 67-year-old man. Representatives from the ISP said the accident happened along the westbound lanes of Interstate 64 just outside Dale in Spencer County, Indiana.

Police said 67-year-old Gerald Kluemper was killed when he allegedly exited his car and was struck by a westbound tractor-trailer driven by Charles Copeland. First responders pronounced Kluemper dead of his injuries at the scene of the accident. Copeland did not report injuries after the accident.

According to Google Maps, Interstate 64 runs east and west through Dale, which is about 181 miles south of Indianapolis.

Authorities are still investigating the accident.
