Details:
On or about Sunday, March 13th, 2022, around 10:30 at night, a major accident between a pedestrian and a passenger vehicle left a 59-year-old man dead. Authorities from the Bexar County Sheriff’s Department said the accident was reported along South New Braunfels Avenue and Denver Boulevard in San Antonio, Texas.
Spokespeople from the San Antonio Police Department said 59-year-old Gilbert Chavez was killed when he was allegedly struck by a vehicle as he was walking alongside or made an attempt to cross the lanes of South New Braunfels Avenue at Denver Boulevard. Emergency responders rushed Chavez to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to his injuries a short time after his arrival.
According to Google Maps, the intersection of South New Braunfels Avenue and Denver Boulevard is on the east side of San Antonio.
Police are still working to pin down all the factors that may have contributed to the accident.
