On or about Friday, March 4th, 2022, around 9:00 in the morning, a major accident between a box truck and a dump truck left a 54-year-old man dead. Sources from the Department of Public Safety said the accident was reported along Farm Road 1810 just outside Decatur, Texas.
Deputies from the Wise County Sheriff’s Office said 54-year-old Gilbert Moreno was killed when the box truck he was driving and a dump truck collided under unknown conditions. Moreno died of his injuries a short time after the collision. Officials identified the driver of the dump truck as Michael Ray Lamond, who was unhurt in the accident.
According to Google Maps, Decatur is situated about 66 miles northwest of downtown Dallas.
Police are still trying to determine what happened in the accident.
