On or about Monday, November 1st, 2021, around 7:42 in the morning, a major single-vehicle tractor-trailer accident claimed the life of a 51-year-old Dumas man. Spokespeople from the ASP said the accident was reported along the northbound side of Interstate 530 in Pulaski County, Arkansas.

Troopers from the Arkansas State Police said 51-year-old Gregory Bess was killed when the tractor-trailer he was driving allegedly veered off the side of northbound I-530 and slammed into a tree a short distance off the pavement. Emergency responders pronounced Bess dead of his injuries when they arrived at the scene. Troopers did not mention any other vehicles in their statement on the accident.

According to Google Maps, Interstate 530 runs north and south through the center of Pulaski County, directly into downtown Little Rock.

State Police assisted local authorities after the accident.
