On or about Wednesday, May 19th, 2021, an accident between a tractor-trailer and a cyclist claimed the life of a 42-year-old man. Troopers from the WSP said the accident happened in the 500 block of 93rd Avenue Southeast just outside Tumwater in Thurston County, Washington.

Police said 42-year-old Gregory Kellogg was killed when the bike he was riding and a tractor-trailer collided under unspecified circumstances. Kellogg was pronounced dead a short time after the accident, but police did not specify if he died at the scene or if he was taken to the hospital where he succumbed to his injuries a short time after his arrival. Authorities did not mention any other vehicles in their preliminary statement on the incident.

According to Google Maps, the accident happened a short distance outside Tumwater, which is situated on the southern edge of Olympia.

Police expect to release the findings of their investigation at a later date.
