On or about Monday, February 7th, 2022, a major two-vehicle accident claimed the life of a 73-year-old man. Spokespeople from the area said the accident was reported at the intersection of Highway 317 and Poison Oak Road in Temple, Texas.
Investigators said 73-year-old Harold Speights was killed when the passenger vehicle he was in and another vehicle collided at the intersection of Highway 317 and Poison Oak Road. Emergency responders pronounced Speights dead of his injuries after the collision, but it is not immediately clear if Speights died at the scene or if he was taken to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to his injuries a short time after the accident.
According to Google Maps, Temple is about 67 miles north of Austin.
