Details:
On or about Monday, March 21st, 2022, around 12:30 in the morning, a hit-and-run accident between a pedestrian and a motorcycle left one individual dead. Officers from the EPPD said the accident was reported in the 7100 block of Chino Drive in El Paso, Texas.
Representatives from the El Paso Police Department said 50-year-old Hector Mario Chavez was killed when he was allegedly hit by a motorcycle driven by 45-year-old Bobby Gabaldon. Authorities allege Gabaldon fled the scene on foot after the initial accident. Chavez was pronounced dead of his injuries a short time after the collision.
According Google Maps, the scene of the accident is a short distance south of Interstate 10.
Police have since charged Bobby Gabaldon with accident involving death in connection with the accident.
Officials are still investigating.
