Details:
On or about Tuesday, January 25th, 2022, around 7:20 in the morning, an accident between an SUV and a pickup truck left a 41-year-old man dead and sent a 37-year-old woman to the hospital. Troopers from the Department of Public Safety said the accident was reported along Farm-to-Market 1878 just outside Nacogdoches in Nacogdoches County, Texas.
Texas DPS officials said 41-year-old Hector Martinez was killed and 37-year-old Kelly Poole was injured when Poole’s SUV allegedly struck Martinez’ pickup truck while attempting to pass multiple vehicle in the oncoming lanes of FM 1878. Emergency responders pronounced Martinez dead a short time after the accident, while Poole was transported by paramedics to Nacogdoches Medical Center with unspecified injuries.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is about two miles northeast of Nacogdoches.
Police are still investigating the collision.
