On or about Monday, August 9th, 2021, around 10:00 at night, an accident between a motorcycle and a tractor-trailer claimed the life of a Washington man. Deputies from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office said the accident was reported along Interstate 70 near the 18 mile marker in South Strabane Township, Pennsylvania.

Law enforcement representatives said 42-year-old Homer Thomas Jr was killed when his motorcycle and a tractor-trailer collided under unspecified circumstances while driving down Interstate 70, Paramedics rushed Thomas to Washington Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries a short time after his arrival. No other injuries were mentioned in the initial police statement.

According to Google Maps, Interstate 70 cuts east and west through the south side of South Strabane Township, which is about 35 miles south of downtown Pittsburgh.

Police are still investigating.
