On or about Sunday, March 7th, 2021, around 2:06 in the morning, an accident between a tractor-trailer and a car left a man and a woman dead. Department of Public Safety Troopers said the accident happened along Highway 171 at the intersection with CR 3131 near Hillsboro in Hill County, Texas.

Deputies from the Hill County Sheriff’s Office said a tractor-trailer allegedly made a left turn into the path of a northbound Chevrolet Camaro driven by 23-year-old Hunter Germer. Emergency responders pronounced Germer and his passenger, 18-year-old Raegan Cook, dead at the scene of the crash. The driver of the tractor-trailer was uninjured in the accident.

Google Maps shows the scene of the accident is a short distance east of Hillsboro, which is about 61 miles south of the Dallas Fort Worth area.

Texas DPS is assisting in the accident investigation.
