Details:
On or about Saturday, July 24th, 2021, around 1:20 in the afternoon, an accident between a tractor-trailer and a car left an infant dead and sent three other people to the hospital. Troopers from the California Highway Patrol said the accident was reported along Highway 156 just outside Gilroy, California.
Officials said one as-of-yet unidentified infant was killed and three people were rushed to the hospital after a tractor-trailer allegedly slammed into a vehicle that had stopped or slowed to make a turn. Emergency responders pronounced the infant dead and rushed several people to the hospital. The driver of the tractor-trailer was uninjured in the collision.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is situated not far from Gilroy, which is about 79 miles south of downtown San Francisco.
State and local law enforcement are investigating the accident.
