On or about Sunday, December 19th, 2021, around 8:48 in the morning, an accident with an alleged DWI driver left at least one individual injured. Local law enforcement spokespeople said the accident was reported along Highway 83 at the intersection with Sierra Vista Boulevard in Laredo, Texas.
Officers from the Laredo Police department said at least one person was injured when a vehicle allegedly struck the back of another car on Highway 83 at Sierra Vista Boulevard. After the initial collision, the driver of the rear vehicle fled the scene on foot but was later apprehended. Police identified him as 22-year-old Hector Rodriguez Jr, who currently faces charges of DWI, accident involving injuries and evading arrest in connection with the incident.
According to Google Maps, the intersection of Sierra Vista Boulevard and Highway 83 is on the south side of Laredo.
Police are still investigating.
