On or about Tuesday, December 28th, 2021, sometime in the morning hours, accident between several tractor-trailers, a construction vehicle, a pickup truck, and passenger vehicles sent at least one individual to the hospital. Deputies from the Blair County Sheriff’s Department said the accident was reported along Interstate 99 in Freedom Township, Pennsylvania.

Law enforcement personnel from the area said at least one as-of-yet unidentified individual was injured when multiple tractor-trailers, a construction truck, a pickup truck, and passenger vehicles collided in a chain-reaction accident on northbound I-99. Authorities did not indicate what may have started off the chain-reaction accident. Emergency responders transported at least one individual from the scene to a nearby hospital with injuries of an unspecified nature or severity.

According to Google Maps, Interstate 99 runs north and south through the eastern edge of Freedom Township, which is about 208 miles southeast of Pittsburgh.

Multiple agencies from the area responded to the scene to assist.
